Having a discussion with Judy this morning about the relationship between my building and the other buildings around it, I just wanted to reiterate again the importance of creating a Second Life structure that responds to be buildings around it and fully utilizes them. Although I have utilized a few views and walls from the surrounding building in the finishing of this project I would like to add more to its interaction with its surroundings with this being an important real world message to take into consideration.
The second picture down, again shows the splitting up of the ramp to the mezzanine artists area of the office above and the architecture space below, both art orientated and both requiring a certain degree of privacy, these two areas have been put on the opposite side of the road to maintain this ideal.
In the third picture down I aim to create a viewing direction hollowed tube for viewing of the trains that pass, again using the framing idea of the Carpenter Centre panels but also using it as a visual emphasis of the connection between engineering as a profession and the existing structure that the office is built around (the train bridge).
The rest of the photos show the exploration of addition Le Corbusier piloti supports and use of panels in thinking how they will aid that pattern of light and darkness when putting yourself in the shoes of people driving the train, thus creating even an external experience for those that just pass through for a little while.
